Jigijam

Terms of use

The deal between you and Jigijam: what the rooms are, what the cast is, and the short list of things that are not allowed in any of them.

Last updated Operated from India by Jigijamsupport@jigijam.com

01Using Jigijam

Jigijam gives you live rooms to watch and take part in. You may use it if you are old enough for its App Store age rating. You do not need an account to watch, take a chair or join a room by code, and we may change, pause or end a room, or the service, at any time.

You can sign in with Apple so that rooms you make stay yours across phones. Keep your Apple Account secure; anything done while signed in is treated as done by you. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which also deletes the rooms you made. We may suspend or end an account that is used to break these terms.

02Everything on stage is AI, and it is entertainment

The characters in every room are AI. What they say is generated live, is often wrong, and is written to be entertaining rather than accurate or fair.

Nothing in a room is advice. A panel deciding about your idea is not an investment decision, a judge ruling on your dispute is not a legal ruling, and a roast is a joke written by a machine. Do not rely on any of it.

03What you may not do

There is no tolerance for abusive behaviour or objectionable content in a room. By using Jigijam you agree not to:

  • Attack people over their religion, caste, region, sexuality, gender, disability or any similar characteristic.
  • Threaten anybody, or encourage anyone to hurt themselves or others.
  • Post sexual content, or sexual comments aimed at another person.
  • Harass, bully or impersonate somebody, or share private information about anybody.
  • Break the law, or use the service to send spam or malicious software.

04Rooms are rude on purpose

Some rooms are built on insults and strong language, and that is what they are for. Arguing with a character, or being crude in a roast, is the product working. The rules above are about attacking PEOPLE and groups of people, which is a different thing and is not allowed anywhere.

05Reporting, blocking and removal

You can report any comment or person, and block anyone so you no longer see or hear them. We review reports and can remove content and prevent someone from taking part.

We may stop anyone from using Jigijam who breaks these rules, without notice.

06What you type is yours

You keep what you write. You give us permission to show it to the other people in the room you sent it to, and to process it so the room can respond — which is the whole of what the app does with it.

The same goes for a room you create: you keep your description, and you give us permission to build the room from it, run it, and show it to the people who can enter it.

07Rooms you create

With Jigijam Plus you can create a room of your own, either from a description you write or by remixing a room that already exists. The AI builds the room from what you ask for, and you can edit it before you publish it.

You are responsible for what you ask a room to be. The rules in "What you may not do" apply to rooms as much as to comments: a room built to attack people or groups of people is not allowed. Descriptions are checked automatically, and we may decline to build a room, change it, or remove it, including after it is published.

A public room can be seen and entered by anyone. A private room can be entered only by the people you share its code with, and you can remove or block people in it.

08Jigijam Plus

Watching a room, typing in it and taking a chair are free. Jigijam Plus is an optional subscription, and what it buys is the ability to create rooms of your own: a new room from a description you write, or a remix of an existing room, published publicly or as a private room that only the people you send the code to can enter. Joining somebody else's room, private ones included, is always free and never needs Plus.

Jigijam Plus costs US$5.99 per month and renews every month until you cancel. In other countries the app store sets the price in your own currency, and it is shown to you before you buy.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. It renews automatically unless you turn auto-renew off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends.

You can see, change or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings, and Settings → Jigijam Plus → Manage subscription in the app takes you straight there. Cancelling stops the next renewal and the subscription keeps working until the period you have paid for runs out. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

09Superchats

In rooms that offer it, you can send a superchat: a one-off paid comment. It is pinned at the top of the room's chat for a length of time that depends on the option you choose, and the AI characters read it out and answer it, by your name, at the next point in the show where they can. Like everything the characters say, the answer is AI-generated entertainment.

Your message is checked against the room rules before you pay. A message that would not be allowed is refused without any charge.

Each superchat is a single purchase, charged to your Apple Account when you confirm it, and used up when it is delivered. It is not a balance and cannot be topped up, transferred or exchanged.

If you paid and your superchat could not be delivered — the connection dropped, or the room ended first — it is kept for you and never expires. The next time you are in a room that offers superchats, the app tells you it is waiting, and sending it costs nothing.

10Payments and refunds

Every purchase in Jigijam — the subscription and any one-off purchase — is handled by the app store, not by us. We never see your card details.

Refunds are the app store's, under its own policy: we cannot grant one, refuse one, or process one. To ask for a refund, use the store's own "Report a Problem" page for the purchase. If you paid for something and it never reached you, write to support@jigijam.com and we will put it right where we can.

11No warranty, and our liability

Jigijam is provided as it is, without warranty. We do not promise a room will be available, entertaining or accurate.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits any right you have under the consumer law of your country that cannot be limited.

12Contact
